Early Childhood Support
(for under 9 years)
Child-centred – Under a Key Worker model, we act as the primary contact for all other allied health professionals. Through initial and ongoing assessments, we facilitate the development of plans for clear and holistic interventions. We facilitate collaboration between families and professionals. We respect confidentiality and seek consent from parents for communication and sharing of information, knowledge, and skills.
Family-focused - We believe families are the experts regarding their children. We add value to parents’ capacity to enhance their abilities by boosting their understanding of their child's diagnosis and supporting their well-being through skill-focused help. We work with parents to overcome obstacles that might hinder them from supporting their children’s needs. Our holistic approach guides them to access ongoing support from community health services, educational settings, playgroups, and other mainstream and community services.

Behaviour Support
All children and young people need to feel accepted and to have a real sense of belonging. We aim to enhance social inclusion and well-being while minimising restrictive practices. Through a child-centred and trauma-informed practice, we apply a relationship-based approach, including a positive education focus. We provide guidance and support to the child and young person so they can participate meaningfully in all their natural environments, including their families, schools, and communities.
The planning process involves collaboration among children, young people, their families, and support teams to identify triggers and implement preventative measures. We facilitate understanding of what is behind the behaviour and develop plans that create safety and security in their relationships. The support plans are tailored to promote dignity and independence, focusing on understanding the underlying causes of challenging behaviours. Our dynamic approach allows for continuous monitoring and adjustment to ensure optimal effectiveness, fostering a commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning.

Specialist Support Coordination
We offer specialised, time-limited guidance to reduce the complexity of a child’s and young person’s situation. We help them manage challenges and address barriers in their support environment, including health, education, or justice systems. We coordinate and facilitate support networks while assisting them in building capacity and resilience.
During the development and implementation of the plan, we provide regular consultation with all the relevant providers to understand and respond to the risks and complexities. We monitor the plan regularly to ensure desired outcomes and goals are achieved, and the child’s and young person’s changing needs or circumstances are managed appropriately. We identify the support required to prevent or respond to a crisis, incident or breakdown of support arrangements and promote safety for the child and young person and others.
